Kestrel Syrah - 2015
I earlier wrote about the Lady in Red from Kestrel, well I’m back with another amazing deal that they have going, the Kestrel Falcon Series Syrah 2015. The regular price listed on their website is $25 a bottle but right now they have one of their case sales going on which drops the price to $10 a bottle (you do have to purchase an entire case though at $120). This wine is an intense and dark Washington (Yakima Valley) Syrah that has a big bold flavor, but is very dry to the taste. You can definitely pick up the dark fruit flavor that they write about on the tasting notes (blackberry, dark cherry) but it also has some complexity with a little bit of tobacco/leather flavor as well. For $10, this is an awesome any day bottle of wine to have on hand in large quantities. One minor note to be aware of, I’m two bottles in and both bottles have had a fair amount of sediment. Sediment is natural and doesn’t bother me, but some folks might not like it at the bottom of the bottle/glass, so I wanted you to be aware.
